Site Security Officers/Managers

Our front line Security Officers are representing ICON Group and our customers, and therefore need to maintain our professional service and image.  Consequently, ICON Group continually invests in training and re-training, as well as offering management support to all of our security staff.

ICON Group can provide Security Officers for duties ranging from overnight site protection to crowd control to Corporate Commissionaires in full tuxedos.

All staff working for ICON Group are fully vetted and licensed under the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act and are provided with full uniforms and associated equipment.

Mobile Security Patrols, Property Checks and Bed-Downs

Random security patrols provide a very effective deterrent to break-ins by ensuring that your premise is correctly secured and providing a highly visible security presence.

ICON Group’s Mobile Security Patrols and Response Units aim to give our clients ‘total peace of mind’.  Every business is unique and we, with your input, will develop a patrol and response package to meet your specific business requirements.  Our Random Patrol Checks are exactly that – making it difficult for a criminal to know when to target your premises for a break-in or to cause damage.

All staff working for ICON Group are fully vetted and licensed under the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act and are provided with full uniforms and associated equipment.  All patrol and response vehicles have GPS tracking.

Alarm Response Services

When your alarm activates, it is critical that you have a company which can respond quickly and professionally.  Whilst a prompt response may not prevent a loss occurring, it can certainly minimise the impact of the loss.  Similarly, it is obviously preferable to have people attending who have been trained in this area and have the appropriate back-up resources rather than putting yourself or your staff into a dangerous situation.

In addition to providing a rapid response service throughout the Auckland region, ICON Group has established a network of contracted security companies which allows us to provide Alarm Response Services nationwide.  This is particularly attractive to companies with multi-branch locations who require a single service provider and point of contact.

With variable traffic conditions, ICON Group cannot guarantee alarm response times, however our KPI’s indicate an average of 12 minutes on a 24x7 basis across the Auckland region.  This compares very favourably with the industry average (20 minutes plus) and is comparable to Priority One attendances by the NZ Police (i.e. serious crime).

All staff (and companies) working for ICON Group are fully vetted and licensed under the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act and comply with the New Zealand Security Association Codes of Practice.

Retail Security Services

Shop theft is a major problem for many New Zealand retailers.  Recent surveys have estimated the annual cost of shop theft at more than $600 million.  This is a price that we all pay through higher prices and lost tax revenue as the government misses out on GST and company tax.

ICON Group can assist retailers in this area by providing highly trained Store Detectives who are skilled at identifying and apprehending shoplifters.

In addition, ICON Group can provide retailers with a no-charge Civil Recovery service that allows for a recovery from the offender for costs incurred in the course of the apprehension.

Alarm Monitoring

ICON Group is not a Monitoring Company; however we partner with a number of companies who specialise in providing monitoring services and therefore can provide a fully packaged service, at very competitive prices, for those customers who require single invoicing and one point of contact.

The type of monitoring that is required will depend on a number of factors including the nature of your business, whether you work ‘standard’ hours and the number of staff with access privileges.

Common monitoring packages include:

Critical 24/7
A burglar alarm monitoring service that provides notification to the customer from their alarm response agent of all critical personal and site safety activations immediately as they occur

Managed (90 Minute Delay)
A burglar alarm monitoring service for business clients that provides notification to the customer and/or the security patrol company of all activations.  There is also an additional daily check to make sure that the system is turned on by a predetermined time and that no zones or areas are disconnected from the system, with after hours entry set to a predetermined delay before the system is checked for turning on.

Managed (Immediate Challenge)
A business alarm monitoring service providing instant notification to the customer and/or the security patrol company of all alarm activations.  There is also an additional daily check to make sure the system is on by a predetermined time and that no zones are disconnected from the system plus after hour challenging of staff who enter the site without system authorisation.

Covert Cash Collections

ICON Group’s Covert Cash Collection Service provides customers with low to medium sized bankings with low profile, discrete cash movements utilising unbranded security officers and vehicles but with high level security protection.

This is ideal for customers who want the protection of a professional collection service (including full insurance coverage of cash contents) without the profile and expense of a normal cash collection service.
