I would like to pass on our appreciation of the good work from ICON Group's Security Officers recently.  Not only did they stop a very serious assault, but they also stopped the offender from getting away and assisted the Police.  It is Security Officers like this that make the security industry the place it is today.  Again we thank them for the great work.

3 November 2009 - Waikumete Cemetary, West Auckland

Recently the Waikumete Cemetery had a Service in Chapel One for a deceased person who had gang connections.  We were advised that this service would have a large attendance and there was an element of friction within the family and people who were expected to attend.

In view of this we had the Police on stand-by and requested 2 Security Guards from ICON Group.  The guards who attended were dressed appropriately and reported to the office to ascertain their duties.  Throughout their period of attendance they attended to duties requested, had a strong but non-threatening presence and assisted with traffic control.  They had an extremely pleasant and helpful attitude at all times.  The service was completed without any events or problems and I believe having them here made a difference.

The Cemetery Management and staff would like to convey their thanks to these two guards for their assistance and professionalism.  They both did a great job and gave staff a great sence of security knowing they were there.

"I am writing to bring to your attention the excellent work of one of your employees, Mr Paul Smith (ICON Group's South Island Retail Security Manager).  Mr Smith was working as undercover store security when he observed a male acting suspiciously.  He reported this to the police, who subsequently located a large amount of product in the offender's car.

Had it not been for Mr Smith's observatiosn and attention to detail, the offending would not have been detected."
